It was narrated that:
Aishah said: “The Messenger of Allah married me when I was six years old. Then we came to Al-Madinah and settled among Banu Harith bin Khazraj. I became ill and my hair fell out, then it grew back and became abundant. My mother Umm Ruman came to me while I was on an Urjuhah with some of my friends, and called for me. I went to her, and I did not know what she wanted. She took me by the hand and made me stand at the door of the house, and I was panting. When I got my breath back, she took some water and wiped my face and head, and led me into the house. There were some woman of the Ansar inside the house, and they said: ‘With blessings and good fortune (from Allah).’ (My mother) handed me over to them and they tidied me up. And suddenly I saw the Messenger of Allah in the morning. And she handed me over to him and I was at that time, nine years old.”
ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا کہتی ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھ سے شادی کی تو اس وقت میری عمر چھ سال کی تھی ، پھر ہم مدینہ آئے تو بنو حارث بن خزرج کے محلہ میں اترے ، مجھے بخار آ گیا اور میرے بال جھڑ گئے ، پھر بال بڑھ کر مونڈھوں تک پہنچ گئے ، تو میری ماں ام رومان میرے پاس آئیں ، میں ایک جھولے میں تھی ، میرے ساتھ میری کئی سہیلیاں تھیں ، ماں نے مجھے آواز دی ، میں ان کے پاس گئی ، مجھے معلوم نہیں تھا کہ وہ کیا چاہتی ہیں ؟ آخر انہوں نے میرا ہاتھ پکڑ کر گھر کے دروازہ پر لا کھڑا کیا ، اس وقت میرا سانس پھول رہا تھا ، یہاں تک کہ میں کچھ پرسکون ہو گئی ، پھر میری ماں نے تھوڑا سا پانی لے کر اس سے میرا منہ دھویا اور سر پونچھا ، پھر مجھے گھر میں لے گئیں ، وہاں ایک کمرہ میں انصار کی کچھ عورتیں تھیں ، انہوں نے دعا دیتے ہوئے کہا : ” تم خیر و برکت اور بہتر نصیب کے ساتھ جیو “ ، میری ماں نے مجھے ان عورتوں کے سپرد کر دیا ، انہوں نے مجھے آراستہ کیا ، میں کسی بات سے خوف زدہ نہیں ہوئی مگر اس وقت جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چاشت کے وقت اچانک تشریف لائے ، اور ان عورتوں نے مجھے آپ کے حوالہ کر دیا ، اس وقت میری عمر نو سال تھی

It was narrated that:
Abdullah said: “The Prophet married Aishah when she was seven years old, and consummated the marriage with her when she was nine, and he passed away when she was eighteen.”
